Check Status and Lifecycle Reference

This status and lifecycle reference lists every state a check, record, defect, and property compliance status can be in across Manifold, in one place, so you do not have to infer a status from behaviour on whichever page you happen to be looking at.

  • Draft: being prepared and not yet scheduled.
  • Scheduled: assigned to an engineer with a date and band.
  • In progress: the engineer has started capturing on site.
  • Submitted: capture is complete and waiting for office review.
  • Record generated: a record has been produced from the reviewed check.
  • Action required: a record was generated but a defect outcome needs remedial work, so the check stays open until it is resolved. This is also a valid value for the public API’s ?status= filter on checks.
  • Completed: closed out with nothing outstanding.
  • Cancelled: the check was called off and will not be carried out.

Record and Defect States

  • Record: immutable once generated; delivered to tenant and client; referenced by renewals.
  • Defect - open: found and not yet addressed; carries forward to the next visit.
  • Defect - in progress: remedial work under way.
  • Defect - resolved: fixed and verified.
  • Defect - deferred: acknowledged and intentionally scheduled for later.

Compliance Status

  • Satisfactory: a current record exists and no remedial action is outstanding.
  • Due soon: the renewal window is approaching.
  • Overdue: the renewal date has passed.
  • Action required: a record exists but a defect outcome needs remedial work.
  • Unknown: no due date is set yet, so the compliance state cannot be determined, typically a new property with no first record. Add or generate a record, and the status resolves.
