Recording Parts On A Check

Every part or material fitted during a visit can be recorded on the check itself, so the office never has to reconstruct what was used from memory. Each part carries the details invoicing needs later.

• Add a part with its name, cost, charge, SKU or barcode, quantity, and an optional note (for example, fitted to boiler or supplied by tenant).
• Pick from van stock to fill the details from the stock loaded for you, and tick Deduct stock to keep stock counts honest; the deduction happens on the server as the part is added.
• Captured parts are pulled into the draft quote when the office creates one from the check; the review happens on that quote.
• Working offline: parts queue on the device and retry when the connection returns; a Pending badge shows anything still waiting to save.

PartScan and CodeScan

Two camera assists take the typing out of parts capture. As with PlateScan and FlueScan, nothing is written until the engineer confirms it.

• PartScan reads a photo of the part and suggests the part name, SKU, and a price hint. It needs a connection, and you review every field before adding.
• CodeScan reads a barcode or QR code on the device itself, so it works offline, and routes the code to the right van-stock item, appliance, or manufacturer link. It needs a browser with barcode detection (Chrome on Android); Safari and the native app fall back to manual entry.
• A part added from a photo keeps a Photo scan provenance marker, so the office can see how it was captured.

Van Stock and Invoice Review

• Van stock is held per engineer. There is no stock editor in the console yet, so the picker shows whatever stock has been loaded for you; ask Manifold support to load or change it.
• Low-stock warnings appear against the parts panel when a picked item is running out.
• The parts panel totals what is awaiting invoice review and the charge value it represents, so nothing billable is forgotten.
• Review captured parts on the draft quote before it is sent or turned into an invoice.
