How Manifold Fits Together

The Core Objects

This map shows how Manifold’s core objects fit together, from the client at the top of the hierarchy down to the individual appliance a check tests. Each object below links to the ones next to it: a client owns properties, a property holds an appliance register, and a check works through that register to produce a record.

Client: the landlord, letting agent, or property manager who receives records and portal access.
Property: the address where work happens, owned by a client and holding an appliance register.
Appliance: a boiler, fire, cooker, water heater, or other gas appliance on a property, with make, model, and location.
Check: one scheduled gas safety visit to a property, assigned to an engineer.
Record: the immutable certificate (CP12 and related types) generated from a reviewed check.
Defect: an issue found during a check, categorised as At Risk, Immediately Dangerous, or Not to Current Standards.
Renewal: the next-due lifecycle that drives reminders and the due-soon and overdue worklists.

How The Objects Fit Together

Setup creates clients, properties, and appliances. Scheduling turns demand into assigned checks. Engineers capture evidence on mobile. The office reviews and generates records. Delivery sends records to tenants and clients. Renewals reopen the loop before compliance lapses.

Everything a client sees (records, portal data, reports) is built from approved check data, not drafts.
Defects carry forward so an engineer arriving for the next check can see what was open last time.
Compliance status (satisfactory, due soon, overdue, action required) rolls up from property records to the dashboard.
