Install Manifold on a Phone

Choose the Install Route

Send engineers to /install on the phone they will use. The page detects the device and shows the exact steps, and it is the one place the native Android app is downloaded from.

• iPhone and iPad: open the page in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Chrome on iOS cannot install apps.
• Android and desktop Chrome or Edge: tap Install Manifold where the browser offers it, or use the browser menu.
• The home-screen install is a Progressive Web App: it updates itself automatically whenever the device is online and keeps working offline on site.
• Android engineers can also sign in on the install page and Download the Android app, the full native build with push notifications and the offline manuals index. Android asks once to allow installs from this source.
• There is no native download for iPhone yet; iPhone engineers use the home-screen web app.

After Installing

1. 1Sign in with the engineer’s own email and password, the same details as on the web.
2. 2Open Today’s run and confirm the assigned checks are listed.
3. 3Allow camera access when prompted so PlateScan, FlueScan and check photos work.
4. 4On the native app, allow notifications so assignment alerts arrive as push.
5. 5Run one check end to end on the real phone before the first field day; simulators do not prove camera or signal behaviour.
